Megan Manigault Founder\/Executive Director<\/h3>\n Meet Megan Manigault, Founder\/Executive Director, 6x Best-Selling\n Author, International Speaker, Mentor, Sexual Violence\/Self Awareness\n Advocate. She is a Charleston native and has always been a forerunner,\n paving the way for others and showing her love for her community by\n sharing her talents and gifts.\n \n In her teen years, Megan became a founding member of the Students Can\n Really Use Bedside Skills (S.C.R.U.B.S.) \u2013 a mentoring program at Roper\n St. Francis Healthcare. She continued to shine as a poet, being one of\n the 1st students to participate in \u201cGear Up\u201d \u2013 Gaining Early Awareness\n and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs.\n \n One of her poems (co-written with her mother) became the lyrics to a\n song entitled \u201cSTV\u201d, used during the \u201cStop the Violence\u201d month. Megan\n was the founding member of the \u201cIn the Spirit of Giving Fund\u201d \u2013 a\n program started at Garrett Academy for students and family members\n experiencing traumatic life events.\n \n As an actress with the \u201cCharleston Street Vendors\u201d, she performed in\n plays and skits about the history of Charleston and its enslaved people.\n These performances included the Mojo Arts Festival and the North\n Charleston Arts Festival.\n \n Megan graduated from Trident Technical College and theUniversity of\n South Carolina, focusing on project management, healthcare, and\n psychology. She has worked in the medical ?eld in various positions for\n over fifteen years. Through her studies of science, human\n culture\/behavior, universe, and nature through the years Megan has\n received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Philosophy focused on the study\n of Metaphysics. She has spent countless hours volunteering at hospitals,\n nursing homes, and various faith-based organizations. Megan has started\n many outreach and mentor camps for girls.\n \n As a survivor of childhood sexual violence and other traumatic\n experiences, she founded I AM VOICES, Inc. in 2017- a non-for-pro?t\n organization located in North Charleston, SC, and in 2018 her Lagos,\n Nigeria chapter; wascreated to provide restorative care to women\n at risk or victimized by sexual exploitation. In 2021, Megan opened the\n first Blooming Flower Transitional Housing Program in the State of South\n Carolina for women who have experienced sex trafficking, sexual\n violence, aging out ofthe foster care system, in spring 2021\n through self-funding and community donations. The program organized and\n run by I AM VOICES, Inc. provides innovative, hands-on help with\n housing, life skills, job placement, education, transportation, social\n skills, financial literacy, therapy, education, job placement, and\n positive contraceptives choices to women.\n \n Her program, Your Voice, Your Unique Power in Lagos, Nigeria, created a\n unique way for young children to learn social-emotional learning through\n learning the power in their voice, body safety, and boundaries.\n \n In 2022, Megan started mentoring with Lowcountry Youth Services; a\n nonprofit that focuses on mentorship in a way that Every Child Wins. She\n continues the support to that program. Megan is now the Program Director\n and co-creator of Girls on the Rise youth development program, an\n in-school initiative for women.\n \n She is known to change the dynamics of a room with her transparent\n talks, workshops, inspirational message, and love of people. Her\n presentations are mentally stimulating and inspire you to TAKE POSITIVE\n ACTION to change your thought process on life. She wants you to\n creatively, authentically, and genuinely LOVE YOU enough to Bloom. Her\n motto is \u201cYou had a purpose before folks had an opinion.\u201d With a focus\n on self-love, self-respect, and self-awareness, Megan has an amazing\n drive to help humanity. Megan uses what she has learned as a survivor,\n to help others develop their strategy to overcome mental obstacles. She\n believes you must acknowledge where you\u2019ve been to find where you are\n and where you are going.\u201d Megan has appeared on several radio and new\n publications; even being a cover model for a few magazines; \u201cof all my\n rewards in business the biggest is seeing our participants bloom in\n life, seeing them succeed and overcome the trauma they have faced is one\n of the GREATEST gifts of all.\u201d\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
