Want to be an I AM VOICES Volunteer or Intern?
We hold quarterly volunteer and intern trainings throughout the year. We will announce our next training soon.
Training
I AM VOICES volunteers and interns complete a full day of training. Trainings are held quarterly. To participate, you must fill out an application to schedule a training session. Volunteers provide a minimum of 5-10 hours of support a month, while interns provide approximately 15 support hours a week. All new applicants must complete a brief interview, sign an NDA, and consent to a SLED background check prior to attending training.
I AM VOICES volunteers and interns provide support for women who have experienced sexual violence, sex trafficking, or are at risk. Depending on your role, additional training may be required. As a volunteer or intern, here are some of the ways you could be involved:
- Providing support to survivors on their coping journey
- Resource and referrals: helping connect survivors to local agencies
- Community outreach and public awareness
- Facilitating programs and coordinating events
- Helping plan programs and events
- Raising awareness about sexual assault, homelessness, sex trafficking, and the support we provide
- Other meaningful activities based on your skills and availability
