Chelsea Johnson is a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practitioner (LISW-CP),Identity and Trauma therapist, mental health trainer and educator, and expressive art facilitator. She helps christians disrupt trauma filled beliefs that challenge their identity in Christ.
Chelsea is open, empowering, and direct. Chelsea is the Founder of W.E.A.L with Chelsea J., a private practice in Columbia SC, serving the state of South Carolina and the state of North Carolina. She provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups. She is trained to facilitate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Expressive Art Therapy.
Chelsea has over 15 years experience that ranges from working with clients incarcerated with severe mental illness, substance use, at risk children and families, group therapy, inpatient psychiatric hospital, senior facilities, developmental disabilities, and nonprofit community organizations. She loves to incorporate creative outlets of art and writing into the therapeutic process.
She is the Lead clinician with Girl Get Up Society, a non-profit organization providing program consultation, group, and individual therapy. She is a board member with I AM Voices, a nonprofit organization providing transitional services for women survivors of sexual exploitation.
Chelsea Johnson is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Master in Social Work. She is compassionate about clients doing the work and holding themselves accountable to the process. She creates partnerships with clients to provide a fluid opportunity to educate and empower women in rediscovering their voice and taking control of their choices. She loves to spend time thrifting, painting, traveling, reading, and wrestling with her boys
