Petal Path – Lotus House

Lotus House is being developed as a specialized residential program for minor survivors of human trafficking ages 14–17. It will help address the limited availability of safe, long-term placement options for minor survivors in South Carolina.
The program is being designed to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, survivor-informed environment with services such as:
- 24-hour supervision, safety, and support
- Individualized case management
- Medical and behavioral healthcare coordination
- Educational continuity and school support
- Life-skills and age-appropriate personal development
- Family engagement and relationship navigation when safe and appropriate
- Advocacy and coordination with DSS, law enforcement, healthcare providers, schools, and other community partners
- Planning for safe reunification, another appropriate placement, or the participant’s next stage of care
Before I found this program, I was living on the streets. I had lost everything, and I didn’t believe I’d ever be able to make a fresh start. The case management support was life-changing. My caseworker helped me secure housing and provided me with the resources I needed to regain my confidence. Therapy sessions helped me heal from the trauma I had carried for years, and now I feel strong enough to start over. I’m starting my own business and looking forward to the future.
