Nikki Brown, MA

Nikki Brown is a dedicated public servant and advocate committed to supporting women who have survived sexual violence and human trafficking. Her career has focused on shaping policies and systems that protect vulnerable populations, including her work in child welfare, where she developed approaches to ensure safety, stability, and long-term well-being for children at risk of abuse and neglect.

Nikki brings a holistic, public health perspective to IAV, emphasizing survivor-centered strategies that go beyond crisis response. She is passionate about tertiary prevention approaches that address social, systemic, and environmental factors—barriers that often impact a survivor’s ability to sustain healing and stability over time.

Her educational journey reflects this interdisciplinary approach: a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Biology, an MA in Organizational Leadership (both from Columbia College), and her current pursuit of a Doctor of Business Administration from South College, providing her with the research-driven and practical tools to guide sustainable, community-centered initiatives.

As Chairwoman of IAV, Nikki is committed to elevating survivors’ voices, strengthening programs that support the whole person, and positioning the organization as a leader in holistic, long-term approaches to human trafficking and sexual violence. She envisions IAV as a space where healing is comprehensive, systemic barriers are addressed, and communities across the State of South Carolina while focusing on Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley counties are empowered to prevent, respond to, and ultimately disrupt cycles of violence.
