For survivors of sexual violence and sex trafficking, a new beginning requires more than hope. It requires safety, stability, resources, and a community willing to stand beside them.
A new year often comes with conversations about fresh starts, new goals, and becoming a better version of ourselves. But for survivors of sexual violence and sex trafficking, starting over is rarely as simple as turning the page on a calendar.
A true new beginning may first require a safe place to sleep. It may mean finding reliable transportation, replacing identification documents, securing employment, returning to school, receiving healthcare, or learning how to trust again. It may also mean having someone nearby who understands that healing cannot be rushed.
At I AM VOICES, we believe survivors should not have to rebuild their lives alone. Through safe housing, individualized case management, advocacy, and supportive services, we help survivors move from immediate need toward lasting stability.
The journey looks different for every person. One survivor may be preparing for independent housing, while another is taking the courageous first step of asking for help. Both steps matter. Both deserve to be honored.
This year, we are inviting our community to think beyond awareness. Awareness helps people recognize a problem, but action helps create a solution. Every donation, partnership, volunteer hour, and community introduction strengthens the circle of support available to survivors.
A new year can represent possibility—but possibility grows when people have the safety and resources needed to pursue it.
Together, we can help make 2026 a year of safety, stability, and renewed hope for survivors in our community.
Help a survivor begin again. Donate, volunteer, or connect I AM VOICES with a potential community partner.
